Beginning in 2008, I entered the Priestess training in the Essene tradition, through the teachings of Rabi Gabriel Cousnes at The Tree of Life in Arizona. Now, Gabriel is not only a Rabi, but also, a medical doctor, practicing wholisitc medicine; a forefather in the raw foods movement, a psychotherapist, Ayurvedic practioner, and a mystic… and so much more!
This profound chapter of my life took me deep into the historical Judiasm, but more importantly the mystical, inner path of the ancient Essenes. In very brief, the Essenes are believed to be ascetic in nature, and lived in communities throughout the area of the Dead Sea in Israel, during the time span of 2nd century BCE through 1st century CE. They have also been assessed as the authors of The Dead Sea Scrolls, which were discovered in the area of a settlement in Qumran, between 1940’s – 1950’s.
They were also known as the Therapeutae, settling in ancient Egypt, as well as being the tradition and community that brought us Jesus, Mother Mary, John the Baptist, and Mary Magdalene. From Judaism to Christiantity, so to speak.
One of the most moving and and deepening experiences of training was that of the Essene Communions. Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, brought these communions to light through his translations in the Gospel of Peace, and other writings.
For me, working with the Elemental Kingdom was first inspired by the daily communion practices. Within this tradition, we are invited to commune with the elements and the divine qualites of the Mother Earth/Heavenly Father God as Angels.
The Communions are daily meditations, morning and evening, that enable us to experience the presence of the Divine, in specific expressions of aliveness.
They are deeply healing, purifying, and bring forth profound Peace from within.
