There are the moments in our lives, where the rubber meets the road of our higher ideals and practices we incorporate in our lives. This is one such moment. One that I’ve chosen to explore with you. Here. Now.
Do you know that feeling when you’ve made a mistake which can’t really be taken back? The stomach is queasy. The mind is racing. The breath feels constricted.
And I remember, the Lotus Flower blooms through dark muddy waters … Cultivating Peace
How do we access peace in that moment? How do we quiet the discomfort of what the body/mind is expressing? Let’s walk through it together, shall we?
As I enter into all that is present, I allow all the inner noise to be present. I come first into the breath and slowly guide it down into the belly. Often times I find it easiest to lay on my back, with my hands gently resting on my low belly.
Breathing in. Breathing out. Breathing in. Breathing out.
In the acknowledging of what I’m feeling, all the sensations, I hear the messages of my mind. They are telling me stories of ‘I’m in trouble. I did wrong. I’m ashamed. I should have known better.’ I listen and allow the voices to be heard, even though I want to shut them out. I want them to be quiet. I want them to go away. I want to go to sleep. But I simply breathe through them with gentleness and calm.
I notice that after a moment of listening, my body is starting to relax. My breathing deepens. The voices quiet. Witness steps forward to hold a silent space of observance. As I observe the inner-chaos quieting, I can begin to inquire about what is true and what is false about my stories, my beliefs surrounding the current situation.
Peace isn’t inactive or passive. It’s dynamic. It is the potency from where we charge our battery, so that our energy source is a pure source to produce ‘right’ thought, ‘right’ action, ‘right’ activation.
As Peace begins to rise within me, the answers, the truths of ‘right’ thought, begin to clarify. It’s a soft breeze, rather than the trumpeting condemnations.
Peace expands from the qualities of relaxation, inner silence, spaciousness, and letting go. As it expands, it has the power to touch all life around us. The ground of peace, then allows for many other high frequency qualities of energy to arise and be cultivated.
Sitting and receiving the information from within my being, resting in peaceful awareness, I’m able to receive clarity. I’m able to perceive clearly, what I would actually change if I could and what is simply my story with false projections. Peace allows me to hold both in balance and hold myself in Compassion, Forgiveness, Humility, and Gentleness.
It’s easy to speak of spiritual qualities of being when things are as we’d like them to be and it’s always a blessing when they happen upon us via Grace. But those gifts of Grace are then doorways of invitation. These invitations ask us to ground and embody these divine qualities through practice and continuous deepening. There’s real ‘in the dirt work’ which transforms us and supports our whole being to rise in vibration and consciousness.
Today is a day of seeing how well I can meet the test before me, where the rubber meets the road. If you’ve had one of these days, then I hope this assists you as well in coming into a state of Peace to embrace your Wholeness.
In Love & Light ~
