We each have deep and meaningful stories to tell.
Our lived experiences are the motifs of our life, sewn with a richness and texture, unlike anyone elses. We are the heros & heroines of our own journey through time and space, as we know it here on this magical planet we inhabit. We are a garden that blooms new colors, new shapes, new scents again and again, with threads of signature frequencies, uniquely our own.
In the personal growth arenas, as well as the many spiritual traditions, we have believed these stories of development are to be eliminated. We are often told:
“No more stories.” “Let go of the story(ies).”
I do believe this is relevant and have indeed suggested this to clients as well as practiced these releases myself. And yet, it’s never as black & white as it all seems.
For our purpose here, I wish to invite a unification and recognition that we are served and matured by both the paths, to form a middle path of Wholeness.
Some stories inform us of what is not working or serving our highest good. There are the ‘war stories’ in 12-step programs that are discouraged to be retold. There are loops of story lines that continue to entrench false beliefs into our heart, mind, and body, that can sprout disease & patterns of emotional suffering. These are stories that are unconscious, habitual that have not been mined for the jewels and radiance they hold, that we hold, beneath the surface.
In many Eastern spiritual traditions, we find a strong masculine bent of disciplining the mind, of controlling our thoughts, and of purifying ‘egoic’ story lines. For many this brings about a division from oneself, continuing an energetic fragmentation of wholeness. Especially without deep nuanced realization of compassion and understanding the purpose that every aspect of our being has or has had, to form who we are, and who we are evoloving into.
The feminine traditions, which are relationtional in nature and inclusive of an alchemical process, invite all aspects of body, mind, emotion, soul to the table, with purpose and sacredness. Are there shadow or misaligned or ways in which the feminine may invite an over-indulgence of wallowing or identifying to that which doesn’t serve? My thought is, of course.
However, we can marry each of these approaches, of masculine and feminine with harmony. Sacredness then meets higher conscious awareness and we find magical living and relationtional intimacy where it matters most, which is with our own being, first and foremost.
It is when we honor all that has come before, our shadow or light, the stories of lived experiences become our guides and teachers. They are holders of our enwizened self. We see in hindsight when we reflect on past legs of our journey that breadcrumbs and divine accompaniment have always been leading us forward and onward.
Stories have always held great power in supporting others. They serve as reminders and reflections, that I am not that different than you, and that all the you have lived through matters. We are each beautiful, magnificent, and seen.
Living a life of sacredness, encourages us to walk in the light of a life of Wholeness, that fosters deep wellness of on all levels of our being, and allows us to celebrate all that has been and is!
With Love,
Lotus
